I woke up at around 7 am when the alarm went off, with a churning in my tummy. Appreciating the fact that I hadn’t woken up after I went to bed at night, because I usually get up for a bathroom break around 4 am, I decided to finish my ablutions (yes because that word is so quaint). Well, what followed was the ablution from hell. I am not even sure how I might have got a stomach infection because I didnt even eat anything unusual yesterday.
U and I went to 8th cross, wandering around, finishing some errands. We shared lunch outside – chow chow bath and rava idlis. Then, later a couple of coffees before we wrapped up the day at 4.30 and decided to return home. After I came home, I made tea as usual and had a slice of cake with it. Then went up for a walk, adjusting my halo because…well…because I felt like. Dinner was veg rice which I’d made for lunch. I add a bit of ginger pickle to make it interesting. Chatted with V and went off to bed per usual. A pleasant day was had by all, you’d think, right?
Right.
Until I woke up at 7 am.
I am now exhausted from sitting on the potty with my nether end running like a tap.
Recalling how we used to eat dry toast and black coffee back in the 6th grade at Mt Mary’s School hostel, I thought I could handle that. The black coffee reminded me so much of you, Mi. I drank it after I ate the toast, thinking happy thoughts. Also contemplating having it more often. Sigh.
Wish you were here, you know. Some days more than others. But always wishing, it’s all I can do. And reminisce.
