Just finished The Mentalist and wished there was another Simon Baker show to watch, and lo and behold… Scarpetta.
Reminded me of that time when we wished for a pharmacy nearby, and one opened right across the road. Not to be outdone, the little one wished for a bakery, and one opened right next to the pharmacy. Big Bazaar was far away, and we wished they’d start a branch in Malleswaram, and they did. Just that you didn’t survive to see it. I can only feel sad about all our best-laid plans going awry now.
I miss you now more than ever with all that I have to do. With you around, it would be so much easier and more fun, fueled by coffee. I’m still struggling with the decluttering and tackling spaces one by one.
The other day I gave away 50+ t-shirts, along with a stack of pants and kurtas. I’m gathering more now and am planning to cart it to an NGO. A decade ago or so, they had a collection point nearby at 16th cross, but they’ve gone since. I identified another collection point, but that’s almost 4 km away and I figured I’d rather travel in the opposite direction and drop the stuff off at the NGO, because that’s what the collection point host will do, too.
The idea of moving anywhere terrifies me, you know. Can you believe I’m the same person who couldn’t wait to pack up and go–and would unpack the minute I crossed the threshold, even if it was 3 am in the morning? I’ve changed in so many ways, and not all of them are commendable, at least in my eyes.
But what is life if there’s no change, eh?
