Coffee With Mi

Mi, I toast you with a tumbler of freshly brewed kaapi!

This blog is one year old today

I began writing this blog on Feb 7, 2010 – when my mother was in hospital, in critical condition – hoping that when she returned home, well, I would get her to share her thoughts and wisdom, and be her scribe.

Little did I imagine that she would be gone the next day.

I wish she was with us now, planning what to make for our wedding anniversary on Feb 9, as she did every year. She’d begin planning how to make the day memorable a week ahead – and infuse so much excitement in all of us, especially Vidur. She’d keep nagging me to buy Sury new clothes. And then Sury and I would go shop and buy stuff for everyone.

We miss her. She loved it when I sang this song:

MOTHER OF MINE

Mother of mine you gave to me,
all of my life to do as I please,
I owe everything I have to you,
Mother sweet Mother of mine.

Mother of mine when I was young
you showed me the right way things had to be done,
without your arms where would I be,
Mother sweet Mother of mine.

Mother you gave me happiness,
much more than words can say,
I thank the lord let me breath with you,
every night and every day.

Mother of mine now I am grown
and I can walk straight all on my own,
I’d like to give you what you gave to me,
Mother sweet Mother of mine.

Sharing is caring!
