We had a lovely 5 days in the capital. And of course, the highlight of the trip was seeing the Taj Mahal. Superlative experience – breathtaking, overwhelming, ethereal, unbelievable – the monument, in spite of all the milling crowds looked like an untouchable heaven. We could have sat there and stared at it infinitely. Our hearts were full. Nah – overflowing with pride that we live in India, and had the pleasure of eye-balling the Taj, one of the seven wonders of the world. Here’s my first view:
We were equally overwhelmed with all the other monuments we were lucky to see, in spite of the biting cold and fog and rain. Of course, we’ll go back to see everything again. It was a wonderful trip, made unforgettable by Asheesh – thanks, Asheesh. We brought back happy memories of five-year old Tanu, the little fairy princess who kept us grinning all the time with her non-stop gems like “okay…which game shall I win?” – how’s that for big attitude? I would have loved to spend more time with Reshu. Maneesh and Kavita were such a pleasure to be with and we had fun – with Vidur in his element. Talk about like-minded!
Our special thanks to Devendar, our charioteer. 🙂 We took loads of photos to capture the fun. I’ll keep adding our experiences in bits and pieces, with pictures.
