All too soon, it is time to make those podis again. So it is going to be roast, roast, roast. I plan to do it when the men are not home, respecting their respiratory system. I am out of dosa milaga podi. Planning to put together a curry podi also, so that making veg becomes a quicker affair. I remember years ago, I came up with an unusual combination that tasted very good with mixed veg, and my mom had a container labeled “vidya” to differentiate it from the other regular stuff. Yes, we actually have all our kitchen containers labeled since some of the colors are similar. And who wants to use arisi maavu (rice flour) instead of salt – and worse still – vice versa?
Today I finally finished the vendayam podi also. Just had a little pinch left, for memories sake. Now I plan to make that – because we have it quite often with rice. So I have a good 2-3 hours in the kitchen, preparing long term stuff. Maybe I’ll round it all off with gulab jamun. 😀
